Liverpool Sound City

Where better to hold a live music event than Liverpool? A city that has given us the Wombats, Miles Kane, The La’s and that band your mum likes… The Beatles!

The city hosts its 4th annual Sound city Concert from the 17th-19th may and each year the concert gets bigger and better. Last year saw The kooks and Calvin Harris showcase their sounds whilst this year Lower than Atlantis, Kids in Glass houses and Temper trap headline the festival.

Organisers of the event say that they “take the best in 21st century pop/tech culture and present it alongside the newest, most forward thinking ways of doing business, creating a forum for people to talk, think, learn and grow all in one of the greatest cities in the world.”

A huge crowd is expected, however tickets are still available from the Sound City Kiosk – walk-up rate is £60 per person for a three-day wristband, £25 for a one-day wristband, or £50 for a Friday/Saturday two-day wristband.

The northwest is the place to be this weekend, what are you waiting for?

What festival?

With a vast array of festivals spread across the UK and Europe this summer, the question for many music lovers is which one do I go to?

MetMusic want to help, and over the next few weeks we are going to review lots of festivals and live music events to make it easier for you to choose.  From Croatia to Scotland and everywhere in between we have scoured the festival scene to provide you with the best information about who to see, where to sleep, what to drink and what to avoid.  Starting with Liverpool Sound City and ending in a blur at some point in September this festival season promises some great undiscovered bands and some monster hangovers.
